OUR PROJECTS FOR RECOVERY
The choice of the name “Rabiosa”, with which we called our cooperative, was born after the meeting with Alessandro Tasinato, author of the novel “Il fiume sono io” (Bottega Errante Edizioni – 2018). It is a narrative investigation of our territory in which we deeply recognized ourselves, embracing its thought, identity and philosophy.
“Il fiume sono io “ (in English -“The river is me”) is in fact the story of the river Rabiosa (the name – today erased from geographical maps – that designated the current Fratta-Gorzone). The book tells of the once symbiotic link with its inhabitants that has been compromised since the 1960s. At the same time is the story of a hope, a love and a vital need to restore a deep and ancient bond.
This meeting strengthened our aim to encourage and promote culture and to allocate, as indicated in out Specification, a part of the cooperative’s profits in favour of initiatives for the recovery and protection of the river.

“For over ten years I have been looking for the most suitable words to tell the story of my territory and the break of a deep bond that since the 1960s has led its inhabitants to forget about it. The key issue of the novel, “The River Is Me”, is the idea that there is no boundary between man and nature and that loving nature means loving ourselves.
I was at the end of the presentation of the book when a frowning gentleman got up from the audience and pointed his finger at me and saying: ‘you and I have to talk’. I was terrified. At that moment I did not realize that the gravity of his manners was the most clearest statement of a tune destined to last.
I started seeing Santo – and then Gianni, Gianluca, Alessio and Giovanni – in Zoetàra, an old farmhouse that has survived therampage of the failed sheds in recent years due to the crisis. “If change is urgent, is it not better to stay here? Is it not in the rearguard that the reversal of the route begins?” The founding values of Rabiosa are the rearguard of the countryside, being back to move forward, producing less to guarantee us a future, toiling a little more for a healthier environment.
